Until the mid-20th century, Los Cabos was a sparsely inhabited stretch of small fishing towns and Chileno Bay was an untouched shore. Eventually, word of its
natural beauty and unrivaled fishing spread far and wide.
To accommodate the influx of visitors, California businessperson William Parr built the Hotel Cabo San Lucas atop the rocky bluffs of Chileno Point, popular
among Hollywood stars such as Bing Crosby and John Wayne. Although it was later demolished, the hotel’s intimate and relaxed spirit lives on at Chileno Bay.
